What do you need for this healthy blw banana bread recipe?
This healthy banana bread is made using organic ingredients. Here are the 6 ingredients that you need to make it.
- Banana – A ripened banana acts as a natural sweetener and gives a good smell and flavor to the bread. You can ripen the banana by baking in the oven for best results.
- Egg – One large egg acts as a binding agent. This is an allergen and it is essential to introduce it separately for babies before trying this recipe.
- Oats – I have used roasted and powdered oats to make this bread which is a healthy alternate for flours. You can choose to use coconut flour or store bought oats flour as well.
- Dates – A natural sweetener and also high in Iron, dates makes this bread healthier and tastier. You either use a date paste or homemade dates syrup.
- Baking soda – A pinch of baking soda makes this bread fluffy and soft. You can choose to not add them.
- Vanilla essence (optional) – I added a couple drops to introduce flavor to my kids. You can choose to not add it, banana does give a natural flavor anyway.

It is common when you use heavier and wetter ingredients such as bananas. Using a pinch of baking soda or any alternative leavening agent prevents banana bread from being fuggy.

Over-mixing or over stirring can lead to a hard rubbery texture. Gently mix in all the wet ingredients and then mix the dry ingredients to get soft and fluffy banana bread.
