BLW Fritters | Rice Flour Fritters

Also known as Mosaru Kodubale; blw fritters/ rice flour fritters is the best snack for babies & a very popular snack from Karnataka. Crispy on the outside and soft inside, they make the best baby led weaning snack for babies & toddlers. These rice flour and yogurt fritters are easy to make with just a few ingredients and made within 15 mins.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 12-15 tbsp Olive oil for deep frying
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Add a cup of yogurt and half a cup of water to a pan and bring it to a boil.
  • Add all the spices mentioned in the ingredients to the yogurt.
  • Add rice flour in parts to make a firm and soft dough. You can add extra rice flour if the dough is too watery.
  • Let it cook well for a couple of minutes until you see the dough formation without it sticking to the pan.
  • Let the dough cool down a bit.
  • Make small balls and roll them on the sheet making small rounds or shapes you wish to try.
  • If you are using an air fryer, air fry them for up to 8 mins until they are crisp outside. If you are shallow frying or deep frying, fry them in a hot oil pan.
  • Note that fry only for a few minutes as they become very hard when they turn brown.

Notes

  • These rice flour fritters are normally white in color. Do not over fry them as they can become very hard.
  • Use water and rice flour as needed. But make the dough as soft as possible.
  • Optionally you can add pureed vegetables to the recipe.
